Former USPSA Board Member Files Federal Lawsuit Against USPSA
Today, former USPSA Board Member and Area 2 Director Jon Birdt filed a lawsuit against the United States Practical Shooting Association (“USPSA”), alleging defamation and breach of fiduciary duty by other USPSA board members. Birdt was recently removed from the board following a vote by both the board and Area 2 membership, which occurred after he filed a separate lawsuit in Washington, the location of USPSA headquarters. Prior to the Washington lawsuit being filed, Birdt in his duties as a board member, sought access to corporate documents, including contracts and legal files, but was denied by USPSA board members and management.
Additionally, current USPSA board members Jim Boone, Russell Fortney, Ben Berry, Lafe Kunkel, Frank Rizzi, and Andy Erickson are named as individual defendants in the lawsuit.
